Advanced Squad Leader VASL Lesson.

Lesson 07: Navigating the menu. Sorry this lesson ran a little long, but I wanted to show new (and old) users how to navigate around the VASL board. How to use the map insert (especially for large map layouts, the button/counter bar and how to customize it (if you choose), the difference between draggable overlay graphics and regular counter graphics, how to use the dr and dr functionality, and track statistics. Etc.

  1. Besides stats, another reason to use the specific DR and dr buttons, if you’ve set up your scenario information correctly. is because they will alert to you to sniper activations, cower on IFT rolls, Casualty on MC boxcars, etc.

Also, each button is set up with situation-specific reminders:
For rally rolls, rolling boxcars will return: “Fate -> Casualty Reduction (A10.64)”.
For rally, rolling snake eyes returns “Heat of Battle (A15.1) or Field Promotion (A18.11)”.
For CC, snake eyes spells out: “Infiltration (A11.22), Field Promotion (A18,11), or Unlikely Kill (A11.501)
