Baltic Theater of Operations
Shorthand for the war’s northern end, the fighting in and around Finland, Sweden and Norway. It sits alongside ETO, PTO and DTO as theater shorthand, and it covers ground the other three never do: the Winter War and the Continuation War, ski troops, deep snow and long dark days. Not to be confused with the 70s rock band Bachman-Turner Overdrive.
