In This Episode…
Before the wheel spins, Neal gives a first look at his VASL Tools extension: scenario info tables pulled straight from the ASL Scenario Archive in about four clicks, the charts built in, a close combat odds calculator, live dice stats that save with the game file, an overrun calculator, and a three-player mode. Then Scott picks “Quitting Games Early” and the guys work through why anybody throws in the towel: a position that’s mathematically gone (is that even quitting?), personal morale shattered by dice or a sniper that takes three of your four leaders, victory conditions you misread until it’s too late, a rules argument that hits a wall, and the game simply not being fun anymore. The verdict: unwinnable and broken personal morale are the big two, nobody should have to keep playing a game they’re not enjoying, and momentum swings back more often than you’d think. The show closes with the bonus song “Call of Duty.”
