ASL AAR: The Chocos (AP165)
On July 21, 1942, Japanese forces landed on the northern Papuan coast around Buna and Gona, as part of a plan to capture the strategically important town of Port Moresby via an overland advance along the Kokoda Track.
ASL AAR: The Drive For Taierzhuang (146)
The Japanese offensive in early 1938 was designed to link their northern force from Beijing with their central force from Nanjing. The two forces were to meet west of Xuzhou, thus severing the Lunghai corridor and the railroad which ran from the coast to Xian.

In March 1944 the Imperial Japanese Army invaded India from neighboring Burma. The small village of Sangshak was a northwest crossroad that led to the more significant target of Imphal only miles to the southwest, where Commonwealth forces had established defenses and supplies. British and Indian Gurkha moved in to hold back the Japanese invasion in this tiny corner of India.
