Friday Tactical Tip #5 – Open Ground vs. Open Ground?

Tactical Tip by: Neal Ulen

This Tactical Tip is for new players, both ASL and ASLSK, to familiarize them with the term “Open Ground” which is used often and interchangeably in ASL. But what does it mean, how should it be interpreted, and how should it be used? I explain the differences for new players and give a few examples how to interpret the “Open Ground” mechanic and benefit from it during Concealment, Rout, and Interdiction circumstances.

Friday Tactical Tips are short ASL refreshers to show players some of the lesser used, sometimes forgotten, and often subtle rules in the Advanced Squad Leader system.
