I was waiting on my buddy to pop into VASL and I saw a room playing KGS and joined it to say hello and then I noticed the guy did NOT have the great LFT KGS counters. I tried to get his attention but he didn't see my typing I guess.

LFT has the counters on their website but they are in a format that didn't load to VASL and I had to do something (I forget, maybe update file extension, something very simple) and now my buddy and I can load the counters.

Yeah, when I have VASL and a map open I have the online charts open over top of the chat window.

GAME NUMBER 21
Kohlenklau (Phil) Victories: 7
Gary Victories: 14

31 January 2023 From Matilda with Love (Gary as Germans/Phil as Soviets) I WON!!!
Gary bought KGS and we are enjoying our 2nd ASL battle in Cholm. Lots of great SSR. I was able to capture around 23 additional VL's. Let me see. Great moments of the game. Soviet AL Danalov 9-1 fired (by SSR) the Matilda HE rounds and it took me quite a few turns to wipe away concealment on his upper level FO with the radio. A stone +3. It started as TH of 6 with a bunch of positive drm. Then I eventually had -2 acq and it was a 6 even. I wounded the FO. I pinned him several times THEN I had a critical hit and blew him away. :D
But Gary was a pro with the OBA and really hurt me with that 100mm fire.
We are having a bloody blast.
I bought all of Vic's Dispatch from the Bunker pdf magazines and we are salivating at many of those scenarios.
We may go to Guadalcanal soon.

GAME NUMBER 22
Kohlenklau (Phil) Victories: 7
Gary Victories: 15

13 February 2023 Dashing up Mt Croce (Gary as Germans/Phil as US) I lost
It was a scenario from Dispatches from the Bunker. I bought the entire collection on pdf from this foreign guy in a back alley. Just kidding. I got them properly from Vic and he is an awesome guy. I had only 3.5 turns to exit 17 VP off the north edge. It was too hard. I made about 14 only. Gary had mines and a mortar and several MMG and LMG.

GAME NUMBER 23
Kohlenklau (Phil) Victories: 7
Gary Victories: 15

21 February 2023 Tavimboko Raid (Gary as IJA/Phil as USMC) I LOST
Our first PTO scenario. I only captured 6 of 13 huts. Learned a lot.

GAME NUMBER 24
Kohlenklau (Phil) Victories: 7
Gary Victories: 17

10 March 2023 BRASCHE ENCOUNTER (Gary as Germans/Phil as French) I LOST
France 1940. Out of the Bunker scenario by MMP. It was very close. I had a leader, MMC and berzerk HS in the east foxhole in melee with his HS, Brasche the hero and a leader. THENNNN he reinforced the melee with an MMC. I got wiped out in CC. Very close.

Then we played the same scenario but in another format in 3D.
If you want to read THAT AAR you can go here...to this post in this forum for a game called Combat Mission.
I did several posts in a row so it should be a quick and simple read.

GAME NUMBER 25
Kohlenklau (Phil) Victories: 8
Gary Victories: 17

25 March 2023 REAR GUARD (Gary as Germans/Phil as Soviets) I WON
Ost Front 1944. Gary had always had to play this solitaire until I got into VASL. He is a small force of Gross Deustchland infantry with 9 panzerfausts. I have I think 3 IS-2's and 5 T-34/85's. I enter on one edge and must exit 7 "units" but if he knocks out one of my tanks, I must wipe out one of his SMC or HS's. It was sooooooo close. Came down to the last melee. He had to take me on as I would have won if he didn't try. He KO'd 3 tanks with fausts. Burning brightly!

I think I lost track of a few we did. Then we took a long break as I was busy with a mod project in another game. Then I took a trip to Europe to see some museums. Now we are back at it. France 1940. "A Real Barn Burner"...
