France 1940. I had always wanted to play this one as lately I have taken a deep dive into the history of May-June 1940. Just infantry and 1 ATG.

03 July 2023 THE POINT OF NO RETURN (Gary as Germans/Phil as New Zealanders) I concede at turn 8 of 10.
Desert warfare but the biggest scenario we had tried so far. We took many nights playing it. I had 3 squads and a leader in a wadi. I have a lot to learn and THOUGHT they were safe but one of his squads had a height advantage and broke the entire stack. I had to throw in the towel a bit after that.

15 July 2023 THEY'RE HERE! REVERSE! (Gary as Italians/Phil as British) Lots of heat haze and dust rolls. Another great fun battle. We took about 7 evenings to complete it. Desert warfare. Gary had seemed to be the winner but upon further reading of the VC, he later said I was the victor.

08 August 2023 CE ARRENIDAMO (Gary as British/Phil as Italians) No heat haze. No dust rolls. Another great fun battle. We took about 5 evenings to complete it. Desert warfare. I conceded. Couldn't rack up the CVP.

22 August 2023 THE CRUX OF CALAIS (Gary as British/Phil as Germans) I had to concede in turn 6. I just didn't know how to get across the bridges properly. He had a 2-pounder which just ripped me a new one.

01 September 2023 GREEN JACKET'S BRIDGE (Gary as Germans/Phil as British) I decided to concede in turn 5. I had held him back and knocked out 3 tanks and 1 had a MA malf but he had stacks ready to take my final 2 hexes. In reality they had surrendered and not died in place.

10 September 2023 TRIAL BY COMBAT (Gary as Germans/Phil as US) Gary won. I took 3 of 6 buildings. I KO'd all three of his tanks. I had a 90L MILF that I finally fixed after several turns. I did not know how best to use the arty and had the 9-2 with the radio. Not a good idea. I lost 2 Shermans. 1 by SHRECK. We had TWO huge CC battles that resulted in total death to both sides. 1 had 2 heroes and 2 leaders and 3 squads in one.

15 September 2023 LOST OPPORTUNITIES (Gary as Georgians&Germans/Phil as US airborne) Phil won. It was our first use of his DZ SME HASL module. It was very close. I destroyed all his R35's. I caused the 2 Marders to have to recall. He did get off 2 squads but couldn't exit the required remainders. We had several ongoing melees. A great game.

One day when I get more organized I will start taking notes on my games. I do have a collection of VASL saves which can be entertaining to wonder how I ended up in such bad positions.
