I feel kind of shy and under qualified to do a full AAR. These paragraphs in this thread are just a tracking history of our play. Memory lane for later in a place that I can easily find. Not really an AAR. I guess I inflated it by calling it an AAR!
But my buddy Gary is an AAR animal and I will see if he cares to post something. He narrates the action with names and a "back story"...Photos too!
GAME NUMBER 16
Kohlenklau (Phil) Victories: 4
Gary Victories: 12
11 December 2022 Cream of the Crop (from maybe an ASL journal or battle pack?) (Gary as Germans/Phil as Soviets) Gary won
NOTES: Gary racked this up after seeing a part of a scenario card and reading an AAR. It was the summer of 1941 and the Germans were attacking the Soviets. There were victory hexes assigned to all the wooden buildings on map so and so. Gary ended with 22 versus my 18. It was fairly close of a battle. I had one KV-1 and then get 3 T-60's at turn 3 of 7. I did NOT have a commissar. I guess I thought I would have got one.
I took that KV-1 forward right into his teeth down south expending all my MP. That first gamble worked out well. He had a 3 pronged attack, top, center, bottom with a StuG, infantry platoon & a leader on each prong. Each StuG had a 9-1 AL too. I pulled right up 2 hexes from a StuG. He tried to have AP or HEAT but rolled poorly and was stuck with just HE. I missed him but then he also failed to KO me. He then headed an entire dstack towards the KV-1. I then shot HE into his stack and killed the leader and broke the 3 platoons. I usually don't catch Gary like that! It really surprised him. In my next movement ph, the KV headed to the north prong to KO a different StuG, broke another infantry MMC. The lucky KV-1 then headed to the center prong to try and interduct the incoming squads. He had a MA Malf and didn't roll it repaired until the final turn.
AAR's are too hard to write a long report. I either put in too much detail or start to doubt my memory.
GAME NUMBER 17
Kohlenklau (Phil) Victories: 5
Gary Victories: 12
21 December 2022 Seoul Brothers (Gary as NKPA/Phil as Jarheads USMC) I won
NOTES: As always, Gary racked this up from somewhere. I had 2 Pershings and an infantry ensemble.
He had a guy go berserk. I had a tank malf the MA and suffer almost full game like that.
Drawing a blank on other details.

GAME NUMBER 18
Kohlenklau (Phil) Victories: 5
Gary Victories: 13
01 January 2023 Skirmish in the Snow (Gary as Soviets/Phil as Germans) Gary won.
This scenario seems to be inspired from the famous tank attack scene in the movie "Stalingrad"...
Gary racked it up. He had to exit off 24 VP. To show low ammo supply, I had to make a secret DR for HE and for AP. I rolled awful. 1 for AP and 2 for HE. You add 3 to each roll. So for the HE roll so I had 5 rounds of HE for my Pak40. For AP I had only 4 rounds and one could be APCR. We took several days over Christmas to finish it now on New Years Day. I used the APCR in a boresight hex with leader and nailed a tank, 1 of his 3 T-34 early version with the bad transmissions. He got the other 2 tanks off which gave him 14 VP. The rest of the game was an infantry battle and he used some good ASL skills to lock me into adjacent hex fire and got out the remaining VP's. It was very close which is always a great feeling.
GAME NUMBER 19
Kohlenklau (Phil) Victories: 5
Gary Victories: 14
20 January 2023 Hill 621 (Gary as Soviets/Phil as Germans) Gary won.
This was our largest, longest, most complex scenario in our 19 meetings. I did lose but it was a last roll of the die kind of battle. He had won by just barely getting 5 of 7 VL's. Things might have gone different with that last CC phase at the bottom of turn 10 of the 10 turns, his allied turn. Close enough in horseshoes and hand grenades.
GAME NUMBER 20
Kohlenklau (Phil) Victories: 6
Gary Victories: 14
21 January 2023 Scouts Out (Gary as Germans/Phil as US Army) I WON!!!
Giving Gary's brain a bit of a rest as I am the attacker for this one. My M8 came on BU along the river road and I was ambushed by a HIP MMC with a Shreck in adjacent grain hex. He rolled boxcars and broke the shreck. oh lord thank you, I promise I will go to church every Sunday. Uhhh, starting NEXT sunday. I got across the bridge in the first 2 turns. Learning canister special ammo with the M8 AC and finally fired some WP smoke rounds...
He has dinner guests tonight so we take a pause. We finished up today. I won with 6 buildings in my possession. He had KO'd 2 vehicles. I had a great stack on level 3 ground north of the river that REALLY kicked butt with 2 mortars and a .50 cal and 8-1 leader Lt Burns. I had a hero generated and he KO'd Gary's PZIIIN with a bazooka. It was a great battle.

31 January 2023 From Matilda with Love (Gary as Germans/Phil as Soviets) in progress
Gary bought KGS and we are enjoying our 2nd ASL battle in Cholm. Lots of great SSR.
