B8.4 etc - Sewer Movement

Post by Milton »

B.8 Sewers and Tunnels

Am I interpreting the above rule section correctly with the following:

If on a sewer emergence dr a unit is "discovered", it cannot attempt emergence in its current sewer location in its next turn but will have to move via the sewer to a different hex to attempt to emerge.

It cannot fire at the above manhole location its next DFPh.

The manhole location can fire at the sewer in its next PFPh or AFPh.

That I am not a fool for thinking B.8 is a little unclear.

Thanks!

1) yes, the unit must move, they cannot remain motionless in the same sewer hex.
2) no defensive fire by sewer units except vs adjacent sewer units (manholes adjacent)
3) definite issue and there is QA that covers this:
B8.2 & B8.3 - Can a unit in a Manhole Location fire during PFPh at a unit in a Sewer in its hex that was discovered during the previous Player Turn? Can a unit in a Sewer and which was discovered during its previous Player Turn Defensive Fire at an enemy unit in the Manhole Location of its hex?
A. No to both. B8.2 requires discovery earlier that Player Turn.
4) it's only foolish to use sewer movement -- most of the time :)
cheers

Thanks for the reply.

As to 4)....This is the sort of thing I'm trying to figure out. The poor 6-2-8 got discovered and was lucky it didnt have to take an 8-2 shot because the 4-6-7 was busy upstairs. Now they will be wandering the sewer as the sun sets on the scenario with the russkies probably not able to meet VC's.

( I hope the term "russkies" doesn't offend anyone here...)
