Coming Soon: Bitterest Day (BFP)

The Battle for Sugar Loaf Hill on Okinawa, May 1945.

Another historical module from Bound Fire Productions (BFP) is about to go to the printers and hit the sweaty palms of Advanced Squad Leader players shortly thereafter. Those who haunt some of the more dusty corners of ASL communities may already be privy to this information, but for those casual perusers of such dens … I have the skinny for you.

Bitterest Day is a historical ASL module that covers the fighting for Sugar Loaf Hill on Okinawa in May of 1945. So players should brush up on their PTO rules, Banzai charges, and cave rules before diving into this one.

“The Bitterest Day gives players a gut-check reaction to the brutal, close-quarter fighting that was a hallmark not only of fighting in the Pacific, but of fighting on Okinawa in particular, and a foreshadowing of the vicious fight awaiting U.S. forces planned for the assault of the Japanese home islands. The Japanese were now fighting on their homeland, and their tenacity reflected that fact. The Marines knew the fight they were up against and were applying all of the hard-fought lessons learned up to that point in the war to the battle on Okinawa. This pack provides players the experience of assaulting dug-in Japanese positions over exposed terrain with no quarter expected and none given by either side.”

  1. BF makes some great modules! Caves complexes make me a little jittery tho. Map is a little plain and looks like mass casualties will be part of this one with all the open ground.
